Maison Maleb's is a house. Built on respect.
Cats are not accessories. Not content. Not a soft launch into the pet industry. They are autonomous beings who have, for reasons of their own, agreed to share our space. The least we can do is take that seriously.
Our Story
Started by grief and refined by the kind of obsession that only makes sense to people who have loved an animal so completely they reorganised their entire life around not failing them again.
Cats deserve better than what we’ve been giving them.
Not marginally better. Categorically better. The gap between what cat ownership actually requires and what most of the market offers is not a business opportunity. It’s an indictment.
Love is not enough on its own.
You can adore your cat and still be giving them the wrong food, the wrong environment, the wrong version of care, because no one told you otherwise and everything around you normalised it. Love without information is well-meaning chaos. We’re here for both.
The animal is the client.
Not you. You are the intermediary. Every decision we make, every product, every piece of copy, every care guide, is made with the animal in mind first. If it serves the owner at the cat’s expense, it doesn’t exist here.
Grief is data.
This house was built by someone who lost a cat and couldn’t unknow what they learned afterwards. That loss is not a brand story. It is the founding condition. It changes what you notice, what you accept, what you refuse to let slide.

No compromise on materials.
If it is not safe enough for a newborn, it is not safe enough for a cat.
Every fabric, every dye, every adhesive, every finish is vetted like a liability, because it is one. Cats groom themselves. They press their faces into surfaces. They sleep on, in, and underneath everything we make. The things that go into our products end up inside yours, one way or another.
Function before aesthetic.
This one is for everyone who has ever bought a cat bed that cost more than their own duvet, placed it in a considered corner of the living room, and watched their cat sleep inside the box it came in.
We design for the bunny kick. For the full-spine scratch. For the sleeping position that is undignified, biologically non-negotiable, and completely resistant to being made photogenic.
Transparency without performance.
We will tell you what is in it. Where it comes from. What it costs to make and why.
Not because transparency is a value we selected in a brand workshop and had set in Helvetica. Because you are making decisions for a creature who cannot make them for themselves, and you deserve the information to do that well.
