For the ones who were everything to someone
There is a particular kind of grief that people do not always know what to do with.
It is the kind that arrives after losing an animal. The kind that is real and specific and does not require defending, but sometimes feels like it needs to be explained to people who have not been there. The kind where you find yourself crying in a supermarket three weeks later because they used to sit on your feet while you made coffee and now they don't.
This page exists because Maleb existed. Because the loss of one cat became the reason for everything you are reading right now. Because grief, when it has nowhere left to go, sometimes becomes something.
Send us a tribute at hello@malebs.com and we will add it to the wall. There is no algorithm. There is no expiry date. What is written here stays. If your cat has passed and you want them remembered properly, write it here. It does not have to be beautiful. It has to be true.
We will start, as we always do, with her.
In Memoriam: the one who started everything
Maleb
She / Her, Bengal, Always first
She was a Bengal with opinions she expressed without hesitation and preferences she communicated without apology. She had a specific spot on the sofa that was hers, an opinion about meal timing that was non-negotiable, and a way of sitting on whatever you were reading that communicated both affection and the clear understanding that your needs were secondary.
She was chaotic and soft and completely unreasonable and she was mine.
When she died, the silence she left had a shape. It still does. This brand exists because of her. The name, the dryer reminder in the footer of every page, the reason any of this was built at all. She is the reason we check. She is the reason we care. She is the reason we built something instead of just being sad.

In loving memory of Maleb. She was a girl who knew her worth and never let anyone forget it.
Always first. Always the reason.
The wall
Every cat who was everything to someone.
The wall below is for all of them. The ones whose names you still say out loud sometimes. The ones whose spot on the sofa you still don't sit in. The ones who changed you in ways you are still finding out about.
What is written here stays. There is no last entry.

Always first
Your cat's name
Their pronoun, what they were to you
Write what is true. Write what you would want someone to know about them. Write the thing that no one else will understand but that you cannot stop thinking about.
Remembered here
And theirs
And theirs. And every one after.
There is no algorithm. There is no expiry date. What is written here stays. Every cat who was everything to someone deserves to be remembered like it.

Add a tribute
Write them in.
If your cat has passed and you want them here, write them in. There is no format. There is no minimum or maximum. Write what is true. Write what you would want someone to know about them.
Write the thing that no one else will understand but that you cannot stop thinking about.
They will be here when you come back.
To add a tribute to the wall, email hello@malebs.com with:
- Their name. What did you call them?
- Tell us one thing about them. The thing that was most theirs
- Remember them. In as many words as you need. It does not have to be beautiful. It has to be true.
No word limit. No format requirement. Just truth.
Send us a tribute at hello@malebs.com and we will add it to the wall.
